Barack Obama says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Rev. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al Sharpton about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

For those who do not know, 'Send in the Clowns' is a theatrical reference meaning when the show isn't going well, lets do the jokes.

Sen. Boxer Warns of Droughts, Floods, Fires, Loss of Species' -- if Senate Fails To Pass Bill

If the Senate doesn't pass a bill to cut global warming, Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer says, there will be dire results: droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution and more.

As the Senate's top-ranked environmentalist, Boxer heads the influential committee that began hearings on the issue this week.

She's aiming to get her panel to pass a bill by the end of September. For months now, she's been meeting with senators to develop a strategy to win 60 votes, enough to overcome a Republican filibuster.

Interesting Observation

Ed McMahon died last week. He was a great entertainer, but prior to his stage accomplishments he was a distinguished Marine Corps fighter pilot in WWII earning six Air Medals and attaining the rank of Colonel. He was discharged in 1946 and was later promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the California Air National Guard.

Farrah Fawcett died last week after a long career in Hollywood as an actress. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she became an activist for cancer treatment and devoted her last remaining years encouraging people to seek treatment. She documented her plight on film and used it to encourage others to stay positive and upbeat despite their diagnosis and suffering.

Michael Jackson died last week. He was perhaps o ne of the greatest singers of modern time. He will also be remembered for his eccentric lifestyle that included sleeping with a chimpanzee, living in a carnival-like atmosphere at Neverland, his fascination with Peter Pan, and his numerous masks and costumes. He also admitted to finding pleasure sleeping with young boys and paying out millions of dollars in settlements to the families of these boys despite being acquitted by a court on one allegation of sexual molestation.

QUESTION - Which of the above did the House of Representatives declare a moment of silence for today? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

QUESTION - Which of the above's family received a personal note of condolence from President Obama? (Hint - It wasn't the first two.)

The Founding Fathers came up with something quite new in the history of the world – the idea of self-governance. They did something unique in the history of the world. They not only threw off the yoke of foreign domination, but they invented a political system that took the shackles off the people and placed them where they belong – on central government.

That's what needs to be done, again, today.

America, God Shed His Grace on Thee...

Liberals look at most people as stupid and needing of help.

Hence, the reason for so many social programs.

Don't give people a handout. Give them a hand up.

On the other hand, I believe God puts in people the ability and desire to succeed. Man is a goal striving being.

Goals. Dreams. Desire. Wanting to make a difference. It all comes from God.

So I believe everyone can be successful. Didn't say it would be easy. Didn't say it would be an overnight success. I said I believe it can happen. (And the definition of success varies.)

But when you give handouts and all these social programs, you take away incentive. You take away desire. You make people dependent.

You also make people resentful.

That is why I don't like most politicians, especially ones like Obama. He doesn't inspire people to believe in themselves, to look inward and to God for their success.

Instead, he tells people to look to Obama, to look to government for their supply, for their need. The exchange or medium is their vote.

In the end, all you have are people in despair, who LEARN dependency.

There are too many people that we can point to who have overcome the odds to in order to be successful. One of my favorites is Chris Gardner, a black man who was homeless, and is now a multimillionaire. (Don't just watch the movie about him. Read his book.)

It is stories like these that make this country great.
