If You Play, You Pay

This is what happens when you do business with the federal government. If you take a handout/bailout from Uncle Sam, then the politicians in the Congress are going to come after you. They will make you cry. They will make you beg. And they will get on a power trip in order to make you look bad.

Then they'll come in and tell you what you can and cannot do with your company. They will also tell you how much you can make.
"The Pay for Performance Act of 2009 would impose government controls on the pay of all employees - not just top executives - of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government. It would be changing the terms of compensation agreements already in place. And it would give Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner extraordinary power to determine the pay of thousands of employees of American companies." - The Washington Examiner
Barney Frank, House Financial Services Committee ChairmanThe government is going to have these companies stupid enough to take a bailout, to bend over a bunch of times and grab the ankles, for whatever money they get from the government.

If you play, you pay.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Is A Saint

PoliticalConservativesBlog.com
On a Saturday afternoon, in Washington, D. C., House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's aide visited the Cardinal of the Catholic Cathedral.

He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's sermon, and he asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman. Besides, there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church and Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look. I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to your church if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint."

The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon."

As her aide promised, Nancy Pelosi appeared for the Sunday sermon and seated herself prominently on the front pew.

During the sermon, as promised, the Cardinal pointed out that House Speaker Pelosi was present.

Then the Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While Speaker Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, she is not my favorite person. Many of her views are contrary to those of the Church. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a cheat, and a thief. Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed.

She married for money and is using it to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her representative obligations both in Washington, D.C. and in California. She simply is not to be trusted."

The Cardinal completed his view of Pelosi with, "But, when compared to Senators Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, and John Kerry, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a saint."

If You Support Third Party Candidates You Might Be A Domestic Terrorist

Have you heard about the MIAC Report? The Missouri Information Analysis Center did a study to help authorities identify domestic terrorists. It warns that most militia members are either constitutionalists or associate with third-party political groups.

Check out this video of Glenn Beck and Penn Jillette.

"The people that are speaking out, the people that are Ron Paul, Bob Barr (supporters), the people who are saying there's some problems with the government, the people like you (Glenn Beck) ... are not planning violence. They're actually working within the system. The loud nuts, the people that really speak out - if there's going to be some problem from them, it's going to be gathering everyone together. What they're afraid of is not the violence, what they're afraid of is so many people are getting so disgusted with a fake two-party system that's really a one-party system. These people may actually get traction. It's the bumper stickers they're afraid of not the guns." -- Penn Jillette

Why Did You Vote Democrat?

PoliticalConservativesBlog.com
I voted Democrat because...

I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want.
I've decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because
I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

I voted Democrat because
I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because
Freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because
When we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.

I voted Democrat because
I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

I voted Democrat because
I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I voted Democrat because
I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because
I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as they see fit.

I voted Democrat because
I believe liberal judges need to rewrite The Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I voted Democrat because
My head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

Somebody Needs To Apologize To Retarded People

There's A Revolution Brewing

Tea Party Movement

Building upon the success of the February 27th "Chicago Tea Party" Rallies, many of the organizers are now working to develop an even larger day of protests set to happen on April 15th, 2009.

These protests are known as the Tax Day Tea Party rallies.

Climate 'Denial' Now Called a Mental Disorder

Seen Al Gore Lately? Nope.
These people are kooks! Don't think so? Check out this article from the London Telegraph:

By Christopher Booker

How odd that, last Monday, none of our media global warming groupies should have bothered to report what was billed to be 'the largest ever demonstration for civil disobedience over climate change'. There was talk of hundreds of thousands of protestors converging on Washington to hear Jim Hansen, the scientist who talks of coal-fired power stations as 'factories of death', call yet again for all coal plants to be closed. Perhaps the lack of coverage was due to the fact that, before Hansen arrived to address a forlorn group of several hundred hippies, Washington was blanketed in nearly a foot of snow.

It was generally another bad week for the warmists. The Met Office, which has been one of the chief pushers of the global warming scare for 20 years, had to admit tha this has been 'Britain's coldest winter for 13 years', despite its prediction last September that the winter would be 'milder than average'. This didn't of course stop it predicting that 2009 will be one of 'the top-five warmest years on record'.

US climate sceptics such as those on the Watts Up With That website, for whom the predictions of the UK Met Office have become a regular source of amusement, recalled its forecast that 2007 would be 'the warmest year on record globally', just before global temperatures dived by nearly a full degree Celsius, cancelling out the entire net warming of the past 100 years.

Ever wilder wax the beleaguered warmists in their rhetoric. Our science minister Lord Drayson said last week he was 'shocked' to find how many of the captains of industry he meets are 'climate deniers'. This was the same Lord Drayson who, as our defence procurement minister, assured Parliament in 2006 that Snatch Land Rovers afforded 'the level of protection we need'. The continuing death toll of soldiers in these unprotected vehicles approaches 40.

Even Drayson is outbid, however, by the groupies in The Guardian, who now suggest that people like Christopher Booker should no longer be compared to 'Holocaust deniers' but consigned to even more outer darkness by branding them as climate 'Creationists', the dirtiest word they know. Meanwhile at the University of the West of England in Bristol this weekend, a conference of 'eco-psychologists', led by a professor, are solemnly exploring the notion that 'climate change denial' should be classified as a form of 'mental disorder'.

I myself am off this weekend to New York, to join all the top 'deniers', 'creationists' and victims of psychic disorder at a conference organised by the Heartland Institute. It is an honour to be asked to speak alongside such luminaries as Professor Richard Lindzen of MIT, Dr Fred Singer, founder of the US satellite weather forecasting service, and the Czech President, Vaclav Klaus (not to mention those two revered climate bloggers, Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit and Anthony Watts). I shall report on this historic event next week.

Arkansas Panel Rejects State Sovereignty Resolution

Arkansas State CapitolFor proponents of small government, the $787 billion economic stimulus bill recently passed by Congress isn't a life saver. It's the last straw.

State lawmakers across the country are sponsoring resolutions (most of them only symbolic) demanding state sovereignty, in effect the right to ignore any federal law or policies they deem unconstitutional. And that includes the U.S. stimulus package.

Lawmakers in at least 15 states are sponsoring similar resolutions. They say they're fighting a trend that has reached a fever pitch - decades of federal overreach.

The resolution, which needed 11 votes to pass, failed on an 8-10 vote.

Celente Forecasts 'The Greatest Depression'

Wall Street TradersTrends guru, Gerald Celente, successfully forecasted the 1987 stock market crash, the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union, 1997’s Asian currency collapse, the massive devaluation of the U.S. dollar, the subprime mortgage debacle, and last year’s failure of several Wall Street giants.

Celente’s dire forecasts were initially scoffed at by the media but as the crisis has worsened, his credibility has soared.

Celente, who tracks global trends for corporate clients as head of the Trends Research Institute, said Monday that “The Greatest Depression,” which was well underway before Wall Street or Washington would acknowledge it, is upon us.

“The global financial system, built on endless supplies of cheap money, rampant speculation, fraud, greed, and delusion is terminally ill and will not be coaxed into remission by stimulus packages nor restored to health by government buyouts and bailouts,” writes Celente.

“Expect massive bank failures, runs on banks, and bank holidays,” writes Celente. “Even if deposits are FDIC insured, quick access to money is by no means assured. At minimum, have reserves on hand for emergencies,” he forecasts.

Celente cites gold as one of the few investments that will continue to rise in value, standing by his prediction of gold at $2,000 an ounce.
Trends suggest "Greatest Depression"

Analysis: The wealth of plain, hard facts belies lofty promises made by President Obama's first address to Congress.

"We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before," said President Obama.

Not anytime soon. The government has yet to fix the levees in New Orleans. There is still a hole in the ground where the World Trade Center once stood. Washington has started two wars it can't win and doesn't know how to finish. The massive bank, brokerage, auto and insurance company bailouts have done nothing to resuscitate the sinking economy. The Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) that candidate Obama championed has not "relieved." President Obama's $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will not lead to recovery and the nation will not 'emerge stronger than before.

Celente: Regarding the unemployed... "You're going to see Great Depression numbers. And matter of fact, this is going to be worse than the Great Depression." Regarding the surge in crime and violence..."When people lose everything and they have nothing to lose, they lose it. There's going to be tax revolt in this country." Watch the video here.

Celente: "You can't spend your way out of problems. You have to produce your way out of problems. This isn't even 'Economics 101' it's 'Economics for Dummies'. You can't print money based on nothing and expect it to fix the problem." Watch the video here.
